Mindfulness.

This is very much a here and now thing for me as I have recently embarked on this journey, or more accurate, I have returned to it.  And here and now I am doing my best to practise, to be more fully present to my experience of life. A way of being with all of my experience without trying to change or mend or fix any of it.

Where is the difficulty if there is no resistance?

There must be some kind of strange balance to be found for me as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine. As a practitioner I am  programmed to fix, change, mend, that’s kind of the job. And yet seeing how helpful it is to many of my patients for them to find this way of being with their difficulties and not pushing them away even as we together try and heal the problem. This way of working means we go deeper into the heart and core of the problem. If we are trying to work with stuck energy in one form or another, stuck in the throat, the gut, the shoulders, some kind of emotional blockage, some kind of rejection of a too uncomfortable emotional experience, so some door is closed inside, getting up close to that blockage with patience and curiosity and tenderness, and letting it be, letting it speak, letting it go.
